Religious Education Programs Offered at St. Hugo of the Hills

Welcome to St. Hugo of the Hills Religious Education! Our program strives to make our students Disciples of Christ by providing opportunities to encounter God through teaching, devotions, and experiences so as to help them grow in their faith and live it throughout their lives.

Our classes are held on Monday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with an opportunity for the students to be dropped off at 4:30 for snack and fellowship. More details and a calendar of classes will be given after registration and prior to the beginning of the Religious Education year.

The 2023-2024 year begins on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. and the final session is Monday, May 13, 2024

It is particularly in the Christian family, enriched by the grace and office of the sacrament of matrimony, that children should be taught from their early years to have a knowledge of God according to the faith received in Baptism, to worship Him, and to love their neighbor.

In fulfilling its educational role, the Church, eager to employ all suitable aids, is concerned especially about those which are her very own. Foremost among these is catechetical instruction, (16) which enlightens and strengthens the faith, nourishes life according to the spirit of Christ, leads to intelligent and active participation in the liturgical mystery (17) and gives motivation for apostolic activity.
